Gender Pay Gap Information 2021

The Trust is not required as yet to formally report on Gender Pay Gap (due to not yet exceeding 250 employees), however, calculations have been completed to determine the Trust’s position based on current employees.  

As of August 2021, the Trust had 125 staff: 32 male and 93 female.

Note: The proportion in all salary quartiles is higher for women. Women represent the majority of the Trust workforce and the vast majority of staff in lower paid business support roles are women (possibility due to the part time/term time only and flexible nature of some of these roles) which may account for the higher proportion of females in the lower paid quartiles.

Note: there is a gender pay gap of 5.92% for median pay. This can be accounted for by the greater proportion of the workforce being women, therefore it can be expected that the mid-point salary may be lower.

Steps we are taking to address the gender pay gap at Ethos Academy Trust

  • As part of the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Employer of Choice Strategies, there will be a review of recruitment documentation and policies to ensure that the language used is attractive across all genders.
  • Flexible working to be given increased exposure within the Trust, with a review of policy and procedure.
  • Diversity Lead to be appointed within the Trust during Spring/Summer term 2022.
